Regen players have random names, stats, abilities, picture, home country, etc. So, why does FM creates fake players? As you know, people retire after certain age. Football players seldom play over the age +35. Therefore, in order to keep the game crowded and playable, these retired players and staff members must be replaced. With a randomly generated fake players of course. Regen, in other words Newgen is created to keep your career going in later dates.

Each country and region have different youth intake dates for regen creation. You should pay close attention to Brazil and Argentina regen dates in my opinion. Because these countries are known wonderkid creation factories. In both FM and real life.
