Because in youth intake period, you can be the first one to make an offer to newly created regen wonderkids. Also scouting and getting reports on players takes a lot of time as well.

What is a FM regen? Players generated by computer are called regens. They don’t exist in real world. Regen players have random names, stats, abilities, picture, home country, etc. So, why does FM creates fake players? As you know, people retire after certain age. Football players seldom play over the age +35. Therefore, in order to keep the game crowded and playable, these retired players and staff members must be replaced. With a randomly generated fake players of course. Regen, in other words Newgen is created to keep your career going in later dates.
Each country and region have different youth intake dates for regen creation. You should pay close attention to Brazil and Argentina regen dates in my opinion. Because these countries are known wonderkid creation factories. In both FM and real life.

Best regen generating countries are at the top of my list. After the first 11 country, the rest divided randomly. As shown above, some countries have exact regen dates. But most have range of youth intake period. In that period, you should check daily to see if the event triggered.
FM22 How to Find Regens?
FM22 finding regens. Do you want to find the best regens? There are three different ways to do that:
- Having a top notch scout team: Scouting is one of the most important aspect of the Football Manager. There are tons of wonderkids and hidden gems in the game. So, send your scouts and let them find the best regens for you. Maybe my FM 22 best scouts list will help you on this quest.
- Using a scout program: Well this one might be considered cheating. But many FM players enjoy using these tools. FM 22 genie scout is the best one for the job if you decide to choose this path.
- Raising your own regens: In order to generate Messi tier regens in FM, you must have the best FM 22 youth facilities and also the best FM 22 head of youth development staff. Having these two will help you to generate top tier regens during your youth intake period.
